I’ve worn many hats over the years – student, wife, mother of four active, healthy children, case worker for a non-profit mental health facility, commercial insurance representative, and software trainer.
Oh, and let’s not forget, I’m a self-proclaimed Potterhead. I’ve read the Harry Potter series five times (at the last count) and went to midnight showings for the premiers. People who know me typically say, “Don’t get her started.” LOL
Of all the interesting things I’ve done, my love of reading and writing prevailed.
I love reading many genres – horror, suspense, thrillers, classic literature, fantasy, and, of course, romance.
My love of romance novels began long before I returned to college as an adult, but reignited when I took a class on Jane Austen and film. Ah, nothing like classic romance coupled with social commentary, or is it the other way around?
In addition to reading, I embraced every opportunity to put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard) – cards to friends and family with personalized notes, college papers, email – both personal and professional, and training manuals.
My vivid imagination became an active breeding ground for tales of romance. Writing them down became an outlet from my hectic “day job,” helping me relax and focus on something other than myself.
After more than a few unedited and never-to-see-the-light-of-day stories, I took a risk and let someone read a few.
Through their encouragement I decided to pursue yet another chapter in my life – that of contemporary and historical romance author.
I hope you enjoy my musings. If they make you smile, laugh out loud, or even cry, it was worth it.
